Low Resolution Theater: Poorly Explained by Its Name

In today's culture, what with its Zooey Deschanels and Plompamoose (that's the plural of Plompamoose) and Wes Anderson, you may feel trapped under a mountain of twee. But in that case, I say to you, stop being such a poser and admit that each one of the things I just listed is at least a little awesome. If you were able to pass that modest test, you are a candidate to enjoy Low Res Theater, a series of single-panel web comics written by Tony Delgrosso and illustrated by Angela Black. The duo cranked out over a cartoon every weekday for over a year between 2009 and 2010, so there's plenty of cuteness to reflect on. So stop pretending you don't spend half your paycheck at Etsy and read some animal puns, dammit.

Dumbest Quotes from the GOP Candidates

Dumb Republican Quotes A roundup of the most ridiculous things said so far by the 2012 Republican presidential candidates:

"There's no question at times of my life, partially driven by how passionately I felt about this country, that I worked far too hard and things happened in my life that were not appropriate." --Newt Gingrich, explaining why he cheated on his first two wives

"Corporations are people, my friend... of course they are. Everything corporations earn ultimately goes to the people. Where do you think it goes? Whose pockets? Whose pockets? People's pockets. Human beings, my friend." —Mitt Romney to a heckler at the Iowa State Fair who suggested that taxes should be raised on corporations as part of balancing the budget

''I will tell you: It's three agencies of government, when I get there, that are gone: Commerce, Education and the -- what's the third one there? Let's see. ... OK. So Commerce, Education and the -- ... The third agency of government I would -- I would do away with the Education, the ... Commerce and -- let's see -- I can't. The third one, I can't. Sorry. Oops.'' --Rick Perry, experiencing an epic onstage meltdown during a GOP debate, forgetting his plan to abolish the Department of Energy

Bob Rivers and his carolers parody the season with dozens of tongue-in-cheek -- and occasionally cheeks 'n' tongues -- renditions of classic holiday tunes. Hear the audio of the gang's collection of musical greats, including "The Restroom Door Said 'Gentlemen,'" "We Wish You Weren't Living With Us," "All You Need Is Elves," "Buttcracker Suite," "Yellow Snow! Yellow Snow! Yellow Snow!" and "Walkin' Around in Women's Underwear."

Bob also presents Twisted Christmas Radio, an online station streaming the spoofs non-stop on demand. It's quite a deal when you realize these tunes are from novelty CDs which have sold millions of copies -- and are available for sale here, too.

For the uninitiated, Bob and his sidekicks, Spike and Joe, reign over the morning radio airwaves in Seattle. In addition to the Christmas favorites on "The Bob Rivers Show" site, find many sound bites from their program and non-holiday song parodies, too.

Did You Know There's a Holiday on Sunday?

It's true! Sunday! There's a holiday! I heard Brian Williams talking about it. I think it's called "Christmas"? Why is there is a silent "t" in it, anyway? Think it has something to do with Jesus Christ? Anyway, I wanted to learn about this day in my preferred format, YouTube rap videos, so I searched around and here are 8 Hilarious Christmas Raps that were especially informative. Oh, and I wanted to ask, was Christmas started by rappers? Because that Santa guy is always talking about "Ho"s...

"Santa finds Rudolph and all the reindeer unable to fly the sleigh (or count backwards … or walk in a straight line … or touch their hoof to their nose …). Seems they have become good friends with Santa's older brother, Dingle Kringle, who has fallen off the wagon … again," reports host NStorm.

"There's only one thing to do. Mixing together Mrs. Kringle's bra along with his favorite alternative sports, Lawn Darts and Midget Tossing, Santa has devised a plan to teach Elliot and the elves how to fly and pull the sleigh!"

I Was Reading Hipster Runoff When It Was On Vinyl

No, "Hipster Runoff" isn't what you get when you stuff a hipster in a waffle iron and a little bit of him comes out of the sides. Which would probably make most of the hipster qualify as runoff, unless you had a very large waffle iron, or a very small hipster. Anyway, that's not what it is. What Hipster Runoff is is a blog written by the eternally anonymous hipster known only as "Carles". The blog combines thoughtful and earnest critiques of and meditations on alternative culture with biting parody and satire of same. The fun (and hilarious) part is, you never know which is which! As Carles would say in his trademark pidgin prose, "if u R an altbro or altchick u need 2 read this blog".

Everything is Terrible! Eventually.

Were you around and thinking and noticing things in 1994? You know, a person? Remember how 1994 seemed so sharp and up-to-date and everything of the previous two and a half decades just seemed cheesy, schmaltzy or crummy? Well, how's 1994 look now, smart guy? Go watch an episode of Conan from 1994 and just look the dumb sets, the stupid suits, the bizarre haircuts. All of that seemed normal. This phenomenon is ably exploited by Everything is Terrible, which mines the lower-quality artifacts of the VHS era to create side-splitting video collages. You will probably look this stupid to future generations.

Super Elf Bowling

Those snotty, yet endearing elves which populate the growing handful of Elf Bowling games presented by NStorm are among the most popular items we've ever featured on About Humor. Other funny Web sites come and go, but these alley cats keep bringing 'em back month after month, year after year. Believe it or not, Elf Bowling is hot even in the middle of summer.

So, it is with great pleasure we get to announce the latest manifestation of the festering little men, Super Elf Bowling. There's good news and bad news, though.

The good is the boys are funnier and more insulting than ever.

The bad news is Super Elf Bowling is only available in a limited function free version. The full game requires purchase. There is no online play site, requiring you to download the game to your PC. No Mac version is available either, as of this writing.

''This Ain't Your Daddy's Elf Bowling!'' promise the creators. ''This year's elf fest is the biggest and baddest bowl-o-rama yet. Santa's elves have gone on strike refusing to make any more toys for Christmas and now its payback time 3-D style. That's right. You will bowl those wise-cracking elves right down Santa Claus Lane in all new 3-D Elf-Vision. You also get funky fresh 3-D graphics, elf insults, sound effects and a global score registry.''
