Somehow this weird unemployed lady, Christine O'Donnell, got to run for US Senate. Bill Maher, host of HBO's Real Time, took the opportunity to dig out dusty twelve year-old clips of O'Donnell's appearances on his former show, ABC's Politically Incorrect. One of these clips showed O'Donnell discussing her teenage dabblings in witchcraft. The fundamentalist Christian candidate wildly overreacted, airing an ad in which she abruptly clarified that she is not a witch, and then even more abruptly declared that she is us.
O'Donnell earned herself an auto-tuned song, the very first sketch of Saturday Night Live's 36th season, and a lot of other mocking videos. She did not earn herself a Senate seat. Obviously.
