The legendary and mind-bogglingly successful Penny Arcade has long been a stable of the hardcore gamer's entertainment diet. But speaking as someone who does play games, sometimes the strip's subject matter can get extremely specific and inscrutable for all but the hardestcore. If you want a more populist gaming comic with a very (suspiciously?) similar art style and two male leads, check out our profile of Virtual Shackles. It's not as consistently funny as Penny Arcade, but has many more jokes that you can understand without attending a half dozen major trade conferences a year.
